Cranberry Quiltworks :: About Us

About Us

At Cranberry Quiltworks, we are quilters. We love fabrics, quilt patterns, making quilts and learning new quilting skills. And we love to share about what we know quilting with you. Our website is not the only place you can find us. Cranberry Quiltworks has been in operation in Orange County, California since 1999 and operates a Gammill Long-arm Quilting Machine Showroom and quilting supply store in Yorba Linda, California. Cranberry Quitlworks ins the authorized Gammill dealer for southern California and Las Vegas, Nevada. We not only sell Gammill long-arm quilting machines, quilt threads, batting and quilt notions and needles, we use them every day. For example, we carry more than 400 A&E PermaCore threads. We also provide quilting services – so if you have a quilt you need quilted – we can do that too!

Our mission is to be more than just a purveyor of long-arm quilting machines and quilting supplies. We want to help you become a better quilter.

  1. Dedication to Friendly Service – We are dedicated to provide friendly service. That includes helping the rookie as well as the seasoned quilter.
  2. Commitment to Customer Satisfaction – We are only happy if you are happy. We will do all we can to ensure you are satisfied.
  3. Focus on Quality – We understand how important your quilts are to you. We only sell products we would use. Our standard for quality will never be compromised.

Cranberry Quiltworks is owned and operated by me, Gina Halladay and my husband Hal. I am a crafty girl and I have the need to create. I quilt, I knit, I embroider. But I could not do this alone. Our Cranberry team also includes our Gammill Service and Installation Manager, Derryl Hill, our Store Manager, Joni Ward and our Office Manager, Pamala Marshall.

I have taught classes on quilting and love to introduce quilting to anyone who wants to listen and to learn. I also write an online column called QuiltersBuzz where I discuss the people, patterns, projects, products and the trends in quilting and where I review the coolest quilting notions and quilting supplies and of course quilting fabrics. I enjoy investigating what is new and exciting in quilting and I interview interesting people like textile artists and pattern designers (i.e. Amy Butler, Denyse Schmidt, Robyn Pandolph, Holly Holderman and Kaffe Fassett and long-arm machine quilters like Karen McTavish, Anne Bright, Pam Clarke and more), quilt pattern designers, and representatives from quilt fabric and notions companies. I seek to inspire a younger generation of quilters as well as the seasoned quilter. I attend the major quilt shows - Quilt Market, the Pacific International Quilt Festival and Machine Quilters Showcase to keep me in the loop.

I am married with four kids who keep my husband, Hal, (also an entrepreneur and a writer...check out Know More Media and Lyrical Wisdom) and me busy… with the PTA, Boy Scouts, church, school activities, sporting events and many kid-generated projects. Our daughter is in college at BYU-Hawaii, one son is in third grade and we have a couple of sons in between!

I also recently opened up the Threaded Pear Studio, a quilt design studio, with my business partner and fellow quilter Stephanie Goudzwaard.  Our doors opened in March 2006 and we have been going full steam ahead ever since.  We design quilt patterns such as Afternoon Delight - quilts you can do in an afternoon or two! I also have a quilt pattern book in the plans and have plans to design several fabric lines.

I hope you find this web site helpful. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
